Decorex 2017 - Highlights
Our favourite week of the year is here again and the excitement in the office has reached new heights over the last few weeks as we counted down to Decorex.
We made the trip out there on Monday and were pleased to see so many beautiful stands from some of our favourite suppliers and exciting new ones.
Below we have selected just a few things that we were inspired by and had to share as soon as possible!
The craftsmanship of every piece from FaolchÚ was second to none and this sideboard was just impeccable. The pale pale colour of the wood, the tiny, delicate little leather pulls and the way the top was patched with Dutchman repairs.
FaolchÚ rightly won best new exhibitor this year and we can’t wait to see what they do in the future.
We have been on the hunt for a light for one of our current projects, a smart lateral apartment, for a little while. When we saw the Cairo Triple Pendent on Martin Huxford’s stand, it was like a bulb went on over our heads (pun intended).
It’s easy to see the Egyptian influence in this stunning piece and it’s ideal for over our client’s dining table.
We love Benchmarks furniture like everyone else in the industry but don’t often get the opportunity to go out to their showroom in Hungerford and test the comfort levels. We had just sat down on the Lyndal sofa when Sean Sutcliffe joins us and without any formalities went right into the story of how the shape is modelled on the neck of a women he fell in love with in a club 20+ years ago.
This wonderful story aside, the height of the back of the Lyndal sofa is just perfect.
